Whanganui River Guided Canoe

This is a unique way of spending time in another of New Zealand’s wonderful National Parks. The Whanganui National Park has rugged terrain covered in lush native forest with the Whanganui River flowing through the heart of it.

The Whanganui River is rich with Maori and European history, the largest reminder of which is the famous ‘Bridge to Nowhere’. Just as the early explorers did, you will see and experience the NZ wilderness, wondering if you have taken a step back in time.  Paddling downstream you will travel through bush-clad hills, see waterfalls, spectacular sheer gorges, farmland as well as some rapids en-route.

Alpine Chalet Accommodation 2 Nights

The Alpine Chalets offer a comfortable and affordable stay with outstanding panoramic views of the Tongariro National Park.

The Alpine Chalets are located amongst mature native trees and established gardens. There are 12 fully self-contained, warm, and comfortable units that face the Tongariro National Park. Each unit has a kitchen and ensuite bathroom for your convenience. All have spectacular views of Mt Ngaruahoe (Mt Doom), Mt Tongariro and Mt Ruapehu. 

Come stay with us if you are searching for a ski lodge, motel, or accommodation that is close to the adventure that National Park has to offer.

• The standard units each have a queen and three adult-sized single bunk beds.
  
• Each unit has a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom for your convenience.

Special offers, in conjunction with Alpine Chalets are based on 2 Adults twin share, minimum 2 nights stay with Alpine Chalets. Accommodation is subject to availability. Children are classified 12 – 16 years old. Younger children must be approved by Alpine Chalets before booking.  

Special offers, in conjunction with Alpine Chalets, offer a great discount off our standard product offer. To enable this discount whilst we are happy to offer free postponement, we cannot offer a refund. For your benefit, it is essential you communicate with Adrift Tongariro 2 days prior to your arrival at Alpine Chalets in regard to your Adrift Tongariro guided tour. 

At this time, Adrift Tongariro will offer its best interpretation of the forecasted conditions for the day of your tour, but this is a forecast and thus is not guaranteed. Adrift Tongariro reserves the right to cancel and postpone the tour on the morning of the tour. If the tour is cancelled and postponed subsequent to your arrival at Alpine Chalets, there is no refund or postponement of your accommodation.

If for any reason you want to or need to alter the date of this package deal for up to 1 year from the check-in date, then you can postpone your booking up to 48 hours prior to check-in date with Alpine Chalets, this must be via email bookings@adriftnz.co.nz.
