Relax each evening at the newly renovated Alpine Chalets, perfectly located in the heart of Tongariro National Park.
Your guide will design the perfect itinerary to match your goals, whether you prefer relaxed scenic walks or more challenging alpine adventures. Hike as much or as little as you wish each day, with your guide offering insights into the park’s geology, culture, and natural history along the way. Choose from a variety of iconic tracks and hidden gems, including:
Scenic short walks through alpine meadows and volcanic valleys
Taranaki Falls Track — a local favourite with views of all three mountains
Half-day hikes to explore Tongariro’s dramatic terrain at an easy pace
The world-famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing, New Zealand’s best one-day trek
Mt Ruapehu Summit Plateau — a true alpine challenge with panoramic views
Tama Lakes — a stunning twin-crater lake system set between two volcanoes
You can also add a Taupō day experience, featuring a boat trip to the Ngātoroirangi Mine Bay Māori Rock Carvings and a peaceful lakeside walk along the shores of Lake Taupō — the perfect complement to your alpine adventure.
